H.A.W.X. 2 Guns For The Spring, Tom Clancy Pleased

The latest Ubisoft game to bear the Tom Clancy name is H.A.W.X. 2, the sequel to the original, million-selling arcade-style flight sim. Billions of dollars in virtual aircraft will once again be blowing up later this year.

Now in development at Ubisoft Bucharest, H.A.W.X. 2 will land on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii later this year. If you had any doubt about the game appealing to a wide array of gamers, just read what Ubisoft has to say: "The game will appeal to a wide array of gamers as players will have the chance to control exceptional pilots trained to use cutting edge technology in amazing aerial warfare missions." I'm convinced!

H.A.W.X. 2 will also likely appeal to author Tom Clancy himself, who will be extremely satisfied with the game's ability to send him to the Bahamas.

Hell yes, totally loved the first one, sunk massive hours into the online side of it. Can't wait!!!

Please, please, please don't use that stupid "assistance off" mode. It was absolutely awful, constantly losing your situational awareness because of a stupid forced camera mode. That was the single biggest reason that after I finished HAWX I went straight back to Ace Combat 6 to finish it for a 4th time...

Oh, and not to mention the fact that a bunch of the planes (including DLC planes) were locked until you reached an extremely high level, which was only possible by GRINDING for at least 20+ hours in multiplayer- that's right, you couldn't even do it in singleplayer, you had to organise with other players to grind for dozens of hours to unlock the planes you bought as DLC! What a complete ripoff.

Speaking of ripoff, the DLC was, well... the planes were already on the disc, you just paid for the unlock key - people who had the PC version just cracked the files and used the planes for free. But then again we're talking about Ubisoft, heir to the EA crown, so they'll probably take it a few steps further by having someone come around to your house and punching you in the face if you register the game.
