How Many Free PSP Go Games Does Europe Need?

How Many Free PSP Go Games Does Europe Need?

Europe has been on the receiving end of great PSP Go game bundles since the device launched in October of last year, and they’re only getting better, with Sony soon offering ten free big-name titles to Euro Go purchasers.

It seems like Sony has always pushed the PSP Go stronger in Europe than it has in North America. From giving Europeans a free copy of Gran Turismo at launch, to passing out three more free games in December, Europeans have always had more incentive to buy the newer handheld than we have in the states.

And now things are getting ridiculous.

According to MCV, Sony will soon launch a program in which folks who purchase the PSP Go over there will have their pick of 10 downloadable games. And not just PSP minis, either. We’re talking Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, and Grand Theft Auto titles.

SCE UK sales director Mark Howsen gave MCV the details.

“Next month we’re launching a free ten game offer. And this isn’t just older titles – we’ve worked with third parties and there’s some really good core products. Any PSP Go purchased after April 1, 2010 will be eligible for the deal.

“We’re using it as a method to drive the hardware as well by making the whole proposition much more appealing.”

I say stick to your guns, Europe. As appealing as it may sound, it’s still the PSP Go.

Now if they offered a PSP-2000 or 3000 with 10 free games, I’d definitely jump on that. Hell, I’d even pay full PSP Go price.

Meanwhile, in North America, retailers are offering a special deal where if you buy a PSP Go, they won’t laugh at you until after you leave the store.

  • They probably won’t offer that here, I mean the cost on your internet quota to download those 10 games is probably more than just buying an old PSP and the 10 UMDs! 😉

    • Just letting you know, they are offering that in Australia as well, according to ecogamer and Big W via twitter.

But I agree with you, the internet quota would be a real killer.

  • I was happily using my go this morning and the Go still has the feature I bought it for and that is never having to deal with UMDs. I’ve got mine tied to a US account though where the game selection is much better if your a JPRG fan like this fanboy!

  • We have both a PSP-1000 and PGPGo in our house. You can download purchased games to two PSPs with the same PSN account, which is awesome for wireless multiplayer games.

The limited range in the Australian PSN store is a pain – at least compared to the US store.

Other than that, PSPGo is a nice easy to carry system. The extra free games have been very sweet. Picked up Motorstorm PSP on release that way.

  • Does the Australian store even HAVE 10 games to choose from?

Still, I’m sure both of the people who buy themselves a PSPGo will enjoy their free games.

  • Hi!, i have just brought PSPgo PSN1003, from Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, there is currently an offer that 10 games are free upon downloading promotion theme directly tp PSPgo using wireless, i did that but not in Saudi Arabia but in Pakistan, my question is will i still get the redemption code for 10 free games or not, PS Saudi Arabia is eligible for this offer, also they said the code will be send to email within 7 days and not more than 30 days, the offer is valid up to 30 sep 2010, any help will be appreciated thnx
