LittleBigPlanet 2's New Pod, Sack Invaders And Flying Pets

LittleBigPlanet 2, officially unveiled this morning by Media Molecule, seems to have a lot new going for it, including a new central hub.

Judging by the 20 screenshots developer Media Molecule released this morning, the player's pod seems much more earth bound then the pod of the original LittleBigPlanet.

The screens also give us a glimpse at some new creature creations including flying birds, hairy monsters and what appears to be a electric bug of some sort. My favourite among the bunch is the TV-headed Sackboy.

    I'm sure I'm not the first person to mention it but... is that a chocobo in screen 3? Or at least a retarded iteration of one...

    @Sughly Yes it is.
    On an unrelated note , "DENIED!"

    looks as though you may be able to bring your paid downloads over from LBP1 with a couple of the Pod screenshots

    do hope so
    would hate to have spent that money for nothing

    Are the graphics improved, or is it just the screenshots that look better?

    Did the graphics get better?
    Was.. IS it possible?

    Looks awesome, and I definitely would have purchased it, IF MY PS3 WAS WORKING. There's absolutely no way in hell I'm buying a new PS3 every 2 years just so I can play games. It's just a pity LBP2 won't be released for the Wii, because it seems to be the only reliable console these days...

    Wish I had a PS3 to get this, and in response to Goraxium I had a friend who had his PS3 for a couple of years before it failed, then after he got it fixed it failed a few weeks later in a different way. So I have some idea what you're going through.

    I really loved LBP, what I played of it. There are only 2 things I can imagine improving on. The level creator could be a little easier to use, I mean it wasn't exactly that difficult but just trying to make simple levels quickly got difficult.
    Secondly some form of steering for cars. I loved trying to make racing levels, and downloading racing levels but in the end winning really just came down to luck. You would start the engine and just hold on until it ended, so some form of steering or air control to put a level of skill into driving would be good.

    Oh and also a third point I just thought of, allowing people to survive for longer, or further of screen if the player wished.
