Lost Planet 2 Finds Its Way To Into Japan’s Hearts & Charts

Lost Planet 2 Finds Its Way To Into Japan’s Hearts & Charts

The recently stagnant Japanese game charts have been injected with a massive dose of new games, including this week’s biggest seller, Lost Planet 2.

The PlayStation 3 version of Capcom’s big alien hunting game sits comfortably in the top spot, its Xbox 360 counterpart managing to land just a few spots lower. The top 10 has a few new contenders with World Soccer Winning Eleven 2010, Konami’s venerable soccer franchise, and a new licensed Fullmetal Alchemist game for the PSP.

Previous chart toppers Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker continue to hold fast, still hanging out in the top 10 – an area not as rich with Wii games as it once was. For the rest of the top 30 bestselling games in Japan for the week of May 17 to 23, courtesy of Media Create, read on.

Media Create Weekly Software Sales [Gpara]

  • They do love their giant creepy boss fights over there.

I’m looking forward to Lost Planet2 though, it isn’t normally my kind of game, but I enjoyed the original and am in the mood for some over-the-top gaming, I’m over realism for a while.

    • Its an excellent game, was completely suprised that most of the faults reviwers complained about were due to their lack of skill and patience.

  • Great to see Lost Planet 2 successful in Japan. It’s a great game which is much maligned in the West because of various bias.

When I’m online it’s great to see so many Japanese playing.

It’s a real shame false reviews have caused it’s sales to suffer in the West.
