Your First Look At Call Of Duty: Black Ops

Your First Look At Call Of Duty: Black Ops

As promised, we got our first look at Treyarch’s latest Call of Duty game tonight, and as expected, the game will take us on a tour of some of the Cold War’s hot spots.

Well, that’s the gist we caught from the flashes in this brief clip, at any rate. Some action in a jungle, some helicopter flying, something onboard a Blackbird spy craft (hence the “astronaut” pictured above), all with old-timey weapons.

Most intriguing, though, were hints at some present-day content as well, a clock in the hospital/lab that features throughout clearly showing a 2010 date.

  • Looks like some assassin’s creed-esque style of story telling, a single character held captive being forced to relive memories that will become the missions that explain the story. If it is, I’ll be a little un-impressed as its been done before, very recently. Hopefully its something a little different though.

  • You don’t “bring back” someone who is flatlining with a defibrillator[/killjoy]. Also good to see G-Man is making cameos outside the Half-Life franchise (“assisssssst”).

  • Darn it I wanted Vietnam. Just Vietnam or something along those lines. Ah well…

I predict this is a play on Spec Ops.

Each mission is based somewhere different. Different country, setting, year etc… You’re reliving the moment or something.
So the mission itself doesn’t hold the storyline necessarily.
