APB Needs 2Ghz, 2GB RAM, 20GB HDD Space

For those of you waiting for the free-roaming cops vs robbers massively multiplayer APB: All Points Bulletin to hit later this month, here are the PC minimum specs: Core 2 Duo 2Ghz or equivalent, 2GB RAM (3GB for Vista64 / Windows 7 64), nVidia GeForce 7800 - 256MB or equivalent, 20GB Hard disk space, headset and microphone recommended, broadband internet connection required.

Minimum specs = will technically run the game, but it will be horrible/unplayable. Picture trying to play a high speed car racing game with loads of traffic/obstacles on the roads, with under 10FPS and with latency (depending on where you live).

I'd recommend a 9800+ Nvidia card or one of the newer series of ATI.

I once had a machine that was bare specs playing current gen games and while it was horrible it wasn't unplayable. I still managed to finish the games even though I would miss out on maybe over half of the action.

All I'm saying is that you can still enjoy games at 10FPS as long as you don't know any better.

@ CyK, trust me when I say "APB" will be "unplayable" at low FPS. Even if you have low latency it will be unplayable with low FPS. I've seen Videos and seen it played at a friends place. I've also talked to a friend in it who has issues with an ATI card in it, where he gets 15-20-FPS and it is totally unplayable due to how driving responds and even shooting at players.

That's because the APB beta only has one bad server which everyone is on at the same time. BTW APB is nowhere close to being ready to release, don't buy it.
