Don’t We All?

Targeted for a demonstration by the tantrum-throwing hate whores of the Westboro Baptist Church, Comic-Con's cosplayers fought fire with fire - very clever fire - in San Diego this afternoon.

Rewind: Westboro Baptist - basically, they're piece-of-shit griefers known for disrupting military funerals with their "God Hates Fags" picket lines, last week said they were picketing Comic-Con, I guess because it represented the idolatrous worship of demigods like J'onn J'onzz and Ant-Man. A counterprotest quickly organised , seeking to raise money for donation to two comic-related philanthropies. That's what you're seeing here.

Congratulations to the counterprotest participants and especially the organisers, for pulling off such a spectacular victory over hate with irony and class, not to mention a wink and a smile.

Stuff like this gives me back a flickering hope for humanity. Well done, gamers.

Times like this, I love being a Nerd/Geek.

Don't be fooled. This is another win for the originally group protesting. Every time they penetrate the media, no matter how negatively they are portrayed, they score another victory and get exactly what they want.

Good job Kotaku for giving the publicity hungry church of hate even more attention, just like they wanted. They didn't even have to pay you.
