Kotaku Matchmaker: Monster Hunter Tri

Kotaku Matchmaker: Monster Hunter Tri

Aussie online gamers know that any online game is best enjoyed with, well… other Aussies. To ensure your weekend online gaming is as lag-free as possible, every Friday we’ll be hosting the Kotaku Matchmaker, where you can meet new friends online!

[imgclear] We’ll be theming each Matchmaker around a specific game, but you can check back in the archive of older titles below. And feel free to suggest a totally different game in the comments, if that’s what you’re planning to play this weekend.

This week it’s the turn of Monster Hunter Tri, the very addictive party-based action title from Capcom. If you’ve been playing with random folks on the net, it’s high time you formed your “carnage a trois”, so to speak.

All you need to do is leave your Wii ID # in the comments below. Mention a bit about yourself, too: How experienced are you? How serious are you? What monsters do you want to take on? What time do you usually play? Anything that’ll help other players decide if you’re really a good match.

I only just got this game last week so I’m not as experienced probably as a lot of people but I’ll be dedicating a lot of this weekend to it. From what I’ve played so far this is gonna be an epic gaming weekend. I’m just trying to make a few online friends to play it with atm 🙂

My game and hunting loincloth are brand new. No Wii Speak. I am up for anything but I do ask you be patient with a newbie!

  • Finally Kotaku does one of these for MH:Tri! I’m looking forward to playing with people who actually speak English, unlike than most of the Europeans I’ve been dealing with lately.

I’m HR32 at writing, but I don’t mind helping newbies out, we’ve all got to start somewhere. I’ve also got a Wii Speak (pre-order bonus FTW).

  • As a recommendation to those of us who do play, if you’re going online try to learn to use weapons other than the Long Sword and Switch Axe. Other players often assume users of those weapons are not worth bringing to the party because so many of the attacks can disrupt other players’ combos. Be prepared if you do master one of these weapons to have to prove it constantly.
