Metroid: Other M Creators Offer Rare Look At The Guts Of A Nintendo Game

The people behind Wii title Metroid: Other M provide an in-depth, behind the scenes look at the forthcoming adventures of Samus Aran in this 17-minute-long video that offers a rare glimpse into the inner workings of a Nintendo game.

Series director Yoshio Sakamoto and Team Ninja's Yosuke Hayashi explain just about everything a Metroid fan would want to know about Other M in this video from Japan's Nintendo Channel, courteously fan-subtitled by Metroid Database. In it, you'll see the anatomy of a Metroid game, from its 3D wireframe models to the creation of its fully voice acted storyline to the genesis of its simple, uncomplicated control scheme.

Part one is above, part two below. It is fascinating stuff.

I can't wait for this, it's easily looking like my 'game of the year'. Loving the innovative control scheme, the music, environments and how fast it plays. I just hope they have an intermediate-advanced difficulty curve, I will seriously be pissed if they make it simple for the current gen noobs, if they wanna play Metroid they can download the first one from Virtual Console. Actually what they should do for veterans and fans is have a (worthy) unlockable in M for those with completed saves of Metroid, Super Metroid and Trilogy on there Wii.

It's Team Ninja - there will be one difficulty mode, it's called "Ball-breaker".

    MUST HAVE NOW!!!!
