Remember This?

Can you guess this old game from just one screenshot?

I’ll update this post with the answer at 5pm today if no one has guessed before then. Or if you do guess it before then, feel free to share your memories of a classic game.

Good luck!

I swear this looks mighty familiar, but maybe I'm just confusing it with Dune 2.

That has to be Dune, surely? A classic!

A little bit harder than usual. Getting a 403 error when I try and view the image, but I'm going to guess Downhill Ski Challenge

Dune! Aww, classic. Recognised it from the thumbnail :)

OMG! DUNE!!! I actually still have this somewhere on CD. :D

could never get the sound to work on XP though... hehe ;P

    Yup. Dune by Cryos.

The soundtrack remains one of my all time favourite game soundtracks.

    Dune! I loved this game!
Anyone remember the liberal use of atomic weapons?

No mistaking Dune. Damn that was a brilliant piece of work.

Never played the game, but I love the novels. My favourite character form the Dune universe is probably Duncan Idaho, because his only character trait is that he bangs a lot of women. He’s my idol.

It was the dunes that gave it away

History is written on the sands of Arrakis...

Walk without rhythem and you won't attract the worm.

Sounds like what Gillard was doing on Sunday, AMIRITE GUYZ?

    The spice must flow!!

I picked up the PC CD version of Dune back at some weekend markets, of all places - it had an odd box design with a dodgy sandworm opening/closing maw gimmick. Never saw it in stores in my town.

Loved Gurney Halleck's voice actor and had a load of fun playing the strange game.

never played it but the sandworm track gave it away... and the dune, obviously.

    "Oh my god, atomics?"

Loved this game and completed it! But got stuck aages when you had to walk into the desert to develop your senses or some rubbish, I kept walking too far and dying.

Its Jazz Jackrabbt, with sand up his lil cotton-tail.

I used to love Dune, finished it at least four times. This and doom 2 where what turned me into a gamer.

Having never played it my first thought was Dune.

Oh Dune why did I toss you into traffic.

Dune by Cryo!. When you travelled across the dunes, and it would loop a few different pre-rendered cutscenes depending on the topography displayed on the mini-map. Very impressive for it's time, but then again they were a top-tier CGI studio along with Cyan and Oddworld Inhabitants, so it still looks good even today.

Fantastic soundtrack too; I'd highly recommend the music of Lost Eden and Megarace as well, all created by a french composer named Stephane Picq.
