An employee at a Foxconn affiliate has fallen to his death at a company dormitory building, reports the Xinhua news agency.
Foxconn manufacturers electronics like the Wii, the PS3, the Xbox 360 and Apple's iPhone. Its Shenzhen plant has suffered 10 suicides this year, causing the company to ditch its suicide compensation and look to relocation.
This latest loss was at a dormitory of a Foxconn-controlled affiliate. The deceased was an 18-year-old summer intern who had only joined the company last month. It is not yet known whether the death was an accident or suicide.
Foxconn is planning to open more factories in China's interior, where wages are lower. To offset the costs, however, the company will charge high prices from its clients.
