You Can Get The New 360 In Colours Other Than Black

If you're willing to pay a little extra, that is.

Sensing correctly that there are some prospective purchasers of the Xbox 360 S not happy with its glossy black colour scheme, custom electronics firm Colorware are reminding the world that you can get a new 360 in its "classic" shade of white. Or blue. Or pink. Or any number of colours and colour combinations.

Like you can with many other consoles, including the PS3, all you need to do is either send Colorware your existing unit or buy one fresh from them.

Be warned, though, individuality will cost you in this instance, with a $US295 charge for re-colouring your own console, and a $US770 fee if you buy a custom one brand new from Colorware.

Interesting idea - but how does it affect the Statutory warranty in Oz? My guess is you void it immediately.

Only if they have to open the case to paint it, I imagine. But you're probably going to be very upset if you need to send it in for a service since it might just be replaced with a factory spare...

whilst they do look pretty cool - the price is just stupid - surely you'd have more money than sense to pay something like that just to have your console a different colour...

Pfft $295? Or just a trip down to the Bunnings spray-paint aisle.

And here I thought MS where releasing it in white again. Just buy some nice uber snazzy entertainment unit so you only have to open it to change games... Except of course nobody makes them right and your console would over heat.

I think if you desperately wanted a different colour you could probably just hold out and see what happens.

We've had white, black and red 360 consoles from Microsoft already, so it could happen again. You'll just have to be in the market for a new box at the right time is all... Probably around Christmas.
