Despite uninformed calls for it to be banned, Modern Warfare 2 was released in Australia with an MA15+ rating. The Classification Board has this week passed judgement on Call of Duty: Black Ops. How did it fare?

The verdict: Black Ops is less violent than Modern Warfare 2. Indeed, the classification marking for the first-person shooter merely describes “Violence” and, in a nod to the vagaries of human interaction, that the “gaming experience may change online.”

Elsewhere, Microsoft has been busy pushing many of its Kinect launch titles through classification and, in similar motion control news, Sony has managed to convince the Board that using a glowing dildo to chop your own finger off isn’t a bannable offence.

Duke Nukem: Critical Mass is the first part of the PSP/DS Duke Nukem Trilogy. You may remember it being announced via this fantastic trailer two E3s ago.

The Forza 3 Ultimate Collection is surely a re-release of Forza 3 with all its DLC on disc. We’re following up with Microsoft to confirm.

Also of note, Activision’s 007 Bloodstone being classified would suggest it’s on track for release this year – something of a surprise given how many other big shooters, including Activision’s other Bond game Goldeneye, are also due to land between September and November.

And is that Super Earth Defense Force coming to Virtual Console? Yes, it looks like it it.
