Harmonix Confirms Entire Rock Band 3 Setlist

Earlier today, RockBandAide.com picked apart a Gamescom video interview with Harmonix and posted a list of 38 more songs believed to be in Rock Band 3. Asked for confirmation, Harmonix provided it. Hilariously.

Oh, so you guys want to read over our shoulder and decipher a scrolling screen from a blurry video? Fine, that's how Harmonix gonna give it to ya. Harmonix Comments On Rock Band 3 Setlist Leak [Spawn Kill via Destructoid]

Hey Dave, any word on what decade this game will arrive in Australia?

It launches here in precisely two months time.

Wow! Seriously? That's crazy, especially considering we still don't have rock band 2... I guess they just decided to skip it and go straight to 3.

Yep, that's pretty much it. We got The Beatles Rock Band the same week as the rest of the world, too.

Is there any word on when the other (non-keyboard) peripherals will be released here or overseas?
I haven't heard anything regarding the midi adaptor or the stringed fender guitar.

The majority is songs from old Guitar Heroes, but at least they're pretty good ones. Hanging out to play Rainbow in the dark :D

But of all the Dio songs they could have possibly chosen, why waste it on Rainbow in the Dark? There are much better, potentially fun Dio songs that would've been a better choice.

I'm pretty impressed, there's heaps in there that I'm keen to play.

Same here! There also looks like there are some great songs to try out the new keyboard with (Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting, The Power of Love and Werewolves of London would be particularly awesome!)

Right, so we've had about.... ooh, 20 guitar-based rhythm games, and nobody has licensed Stairway to Heaven yet?!

That's because Jimmy Page has openly stated that he doesn't like the Guitar Hero and Rockband games

So has Jack White, but Seven Nation Army is in the new Guitar Hero, and I'm sure there was a White Stripes song in Guitar Hero 5.

Also, The Hardest Button To Button is in there too.

Jack White may not like the games, but he's lovin' the moolah it's bringing in...

Does anyone know how good the drum kit is? My RB1 drum kit died after 3 months, was hoping to get an Ion, but it's so damn expensive. I heard the RB2 kit was pretty good, but NZ barely even caught wind of the game, let alone the instruments ;(

I ended up importing the RB2 drums from the US to Australia. It was expensive, yeah, but god damn it wasn't worth every cent. Went all out and got the cymbal expansions too.

It might also be worth noting that I sent my Guitar Hero: World Tour drums back for replacements about 5 times (no exaggeration) for a new set, because a pad would flat out stop working after one session of playing.

A year and a half, and my RB2 drums are still working flawlssly.

Woe the amount of songs in that list that have already appeared in the GH series is staggering and the GH6 setlist contains heaps of tracks that have appeared in the RB series. It's as if they are finally running out of songs to license.

Question that may have already been answered - will be RB3 be backwards compatible with RB and RB2?

Yes. But old songs will not be retro-fitted with Pro mode.
Keyboard works as a "five button guitar" and vice versa... so the non-pro mode keyboard will be retrofitted (since the game just sees it as a keyboard shaped guitar).

Harmonix have said they hope to retrofit some songs for Pro mode but havn't said how many or how quickly they'll do this. (It's worth noting that MTV have strongly implied that they will not retrofit any songs... lets take Harmonix's word for this one...)

    no thanks...

I have owned every other rock band game, and was looking forward to updating my plastic instruments with this...

however, the ramones is the only song that I actually really like on there....
and I am not going to pay $300 and only get 1 song that I like with the new instruments....
