Latest Borderlands DLC Revealed And Detailed

The latest downloadable installment for sci-fi shooter Borderlands has been made official. The fourth Borderlands DLC is dubbed "Claptrap's New Robot Revolution".

In Claptrap's New Robot Revolution, players must put down a deadly mechanical uprising. A civil war has broken out between an armada lead by Hyperion Corporation and the Claptraps lead by the Ninja Assassin.

"A year ago Borderlands was an untested brand that through hard work and a lot of passion, turned out to be one of the best-selling, claptastic and skagtacular games we have ever created," said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K, in an official release. "A year later, we are releasing our fourth DLC installment, Claptrap's New Robot Revolution, which illustrates our enthusiasm for creating highly entertaining content that enhances a franchise. In addition to serving as the perfect bookend to the original game, what gamer doesn't love a kung-fu-wielding Ninja Assassin Claptrap with nunchuck skills?"

The fourth Borderlands DLC follows up on previously released Borderlands downloadable content The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot and The Secret Armory of General Knoxx.

Claptrap's New Robot Revolution will be released on the PSN, Windows PC and Xbox LIVE this September for US$9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points.

Any word on the level cap increase?
a new class or some new skill trees would be awesome!

Game really, really needs some new playable characters.

Can't wait! I've just re-found my love for Borderlands after the Deal of Week on the DLC.
Hopefully by the time I've finished it and reached Lvl 61 this would have already been released, between Halo Reach of corse.

It's good to know the DLC for Borderlands is stuff they've put work into afterwards. I guess they could have dished it all up during development - but at least they didn't throw it all out within 3 months of release.

The game itself offers great re-playability - but I'm just glad they've kept it going even longer by releasing it at great times. Hopefully they release a 5th and by then a new Borderlands won't be far off.

I've only just started playing again as well - but because my xbl mates can't play the Underdome missions, I am seriously in need of new missions!

In the mean time, I'm sure there are still some missing claptraps in my Borderlands world - could definitely do with some more inventory slots.

add me for underdome awesomeness: GT= dmanwhat

Did anyone else notice the word "bookend"? Could this be an implication that there won't be anymore DLC after this? I actually hope that's the case. I really want to see a new full game, Borderlands 2. There's a lot more freedom in creating a new game than trying to add to one that already exists. Who knows, maybe we'll end up fighting Atlas on Promethia next game.

Ah, I see that it will be out soon, but when exactly?

      A rumour I found looked at "October 12, 2010"
