Of Course Nintendo Is Making The Wii Successor

Nintendo does not stop. The company has stated this on numerous occasions that it continues developing hardware.

Meaning? Meaning right now Nintendo is working on new hardware. Right now!

"We are of course studying and developing the next console to Wii," Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said at a recent investors meeting. "However, there is a big difference between studying a product and announcing what it is and when we will release it."

That's right! Just because Nintendo is working on something, that doesn't mean it will release it.

"At the same time, it is really important for our business to positively surprise people," Iwata continued. "Will you be surprised by our completed product if we told you how it is surprising three years in advance?"

Yes, yes I will. That doesn't mean I like surprises! I hate them.

"Therefore, we basically disclose information on our products as late as possible. We believe this is the best approach for the entertainment products we are developing. Again, we are planning the next products for Nintendo's continuous growth, but we cannot tell you what, when and how we will release it here."

To recap: Nintendo is working on something. It is always working on something. Nintendo likes surprises. I don't.

Its like with the GC, they started R&D as soon as the GC was finished. The same happened with the Wii is my guess

I'd rather they told us what they where working on and predict a date when it might be available to the public so I know whether to but a product now.

... and that's why they'd rather not tell you what's coming down the pipes - so that you still want to buy current-model stock for as long as possible. But don't hold your breath, this console gen still has a long way to go before it's superseded, though the Wii will definitely be the first to be replaced.

you sure about that? As much as id love to see a HD Wii with 5.1 sound why would they rush a new one when the current one is selling so well.
A part of me almost wishes the wii would start selling poorly so theyd push a new console out with the same power as a 360 or PS3. Id love to see mario is shiny HD graphics.
And while theyre at it they can fix the online system. I'd like to be able to see when my friends are online and speak to them instead of having to ring them up every time i want to organise a MP session.

Huzzah another gimmicky hunk of waggle for people to blow their money on.

If Nintendo continues along the same trend gaming, well gaming that involves story, gameplay and script, will be dead before you know it.

Hopefully Move and Kinect crashing and burning will put people off buying this gimmicky crap. Sure, it sounded awesome, i got interested, but what you see on paper and what you see in practice don't exactly match up.

awwwwwwwww poor little Blackwater just realised the entire gaming public doesn't share his exact tastes and preferences. it must be so sad for you.

and when you say "If Nintendo continues along the same trend gaming, well gaming that involves story, gameplay and script, will be dead before you know it."

didn't you mean "If Nintendo continues along the same trend gaming, well gaming that involves ALIENS, EXPLOSIONS AND HARDCORE FUTURE DUDES IN ARMOR, will be dead before you know it"?

The thing is nintendo isnt some fly by night company thats just started up, they have been doing their thing a long time, so you have to give them some credit to know what they are doing.

If the whole more immersion idea wasnt popular, PS3 and Xbox wouldnt have developed things along the same lines, better creation comes from taking current things making them better, both Msoft and Sony are doing this.

i remember when wii first came out, and it was branded as a gimmick, for kids and whatnot, but sure anything when xmas rocked around 2 years in a row, good luck trying to get one. I just hope the Nintendo Team are out there with a check list that reads

    "HDMI - Bluray/dvd - Storage - More Precision"

It might not break the elite gamer glass ceiling but offering some more competition to shake up the industry only betters the products to come, and the end of the day us the gamers and users win out.

Are they going to call it the Wii Wii?
    Or, Wii 2 (Wii Square).

Perhaps they will call it PSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (Flush)

They should call it the Poo and just admit they like toilet humor.
