So Gran Turismo 5 Isn't Done Yet

Gran Turismo, which was first revealed in 2006, was supposed to be out in March 2010. Then it was delayed to "TBA". It is now supposed to be out on November 2. Today is August 9.

The game is not done. "GT5 is getting to where it will be finished shortly," Gran Turismo designer Kazunori Yamauchi tweeted earlier today. Yamauchi seemed upbeat and noted that the development of GT games is always like this — that it's like they are nowhere near finished.

But Yamauchi and his team have released GT games in the past, so do not fret!

It is not uncommon for studios to work on games right up until the titles are out the door. It's just that Polyphony Digital has been working on GT5 for such a long time.

The studio probably could work on GT5 forever, perfecting and polishing. At this year's E3 gaming expo, the designer said that the game might have "too much" detail. GT fans wouldn't have it any other way.

This just in man wants his game to not be shit so works really hard on it

And to think we're still going pay the standard 80 or so bucks for this.

      Pure quality.

        Unless you go siganture ;)

RRP of $120 in Australia. If you're gonna buy from somewhere like EB I can guarentee it will be much more than $80.

        Screw Australian pricing, import!

Just make sure you import from the UK so all futre DLC is compatible with your copy!

I guarantee places like Big W and JB Hi-Fi will be selling the game well under rrp, so local pricing won't be too bad.

But really, signature edition is the only way to go for a game of this magnitude ^_^

You know JB is raising its prices on all new games to be pretty much the same as EB? They were losing too much money.

That doesnt sound right considering that they posted record profits for 09/10 year.

      I like attention to punctuation.

With punctuation like that, obviously you do not.

    @ matt

not when i save at least $20 to $30 on said game by importing (delivered to my door) and then buy a second game with said savings ;)

A game, 2 months out from is "release" that is still relying on brand recongition to shift units. A brand that has been irrlelvent for the last 5 years.

We know bugger all about the meat of the game, every video released doesn't live up the promises they make. Hell its a game in two parts; about a quarter of the cars are genuine new content, the rest are simply re-rendered models from GT4, missing all the bells and whistles of the much lauded "premium" cars.

Get back to me when PD get to work on Tourist Trophy 2.

GT5 is gunna either be the new Duke nukem forever or GT PSP.

The game thats coming out in Novemeber will probably be Gran turismo 5 Prolouge 2 so they can spend another 10 years making the friggen thing.
