Trapped Chilean Miners Get PSPs

There are 33 miners stuck 2,300 feet underground. It could be Christmas before the escape shaft is finished. How to pass the time? PlayStation Portables.

Food and toiletries are being funneled to the trapped men. As a diversion, PSPs have been included in the cups each men receive, containing their daily necessities.

Worst case scenario is that the men will be out in four months. Depending on use, the PSP's battery ballparks at around six hours or more.

Playing cards and board games might have been better as they don't run on batteries. But, it's the thought that counts! And those PSPs will definitely provide a much needed diversion for a couple hours.

The men have already been trapped for two week and were discovered after a mine collapsed in Copiapo, Chile on August 5.

They should be sent some condoms, a DnD dungeon masters guide with a players handbook and maybe a bit of carcarosone and settlers of catan.

I refuse to believe they are stupid enough to do this without them having some sort of power source, it seems entirely possible they could have run some sort of heavy duty extension cord down there.

At least there's no risk of them pirating games down there.

Lowering a bike in there could be good too... Extersize and energy for psps, but I wonder what games they got....

They were probably given a PSP over a DS because the batteries are removable. They can drop down new batteries and take out the drained ones in shifts, rather than passing the whole console in and out.

Pretty sure they've got power down there... or at least access to it. Looking at the camera footage they've still got working machinery, so I'm guessing they've got either generators or some kinda power supply from the surface...

They should have finished downloading patches by the time they're rescued.
