Video Game Store For Sale On eBay

Ever wanted to own your own games store? Well, you can buy one on eBay - or the inventory of one set to close on September 1 in Grand Junction, Colo. The owner ships it free up to 1200km.

All of the stock, valued at $US60,000 is used, but you can Buy It Now! for $US30,000 (GameStop bid $US20, or $US35 in store credit. But that's $US36.75 with an Edge card!) Games and consoles cover practically all generations of Nintendo and PlayStation machines, plus the Xbox and Xbox 360. "There is enough inventory to start your own store or add to your existing business."

Or, if you live in Junction, you can just buy the business and take it over intact. But I'm guessing this guy's decision to throw in the towel says enough about the prospects of an independent used games store there.

Still, $US60,000 worth of used games - you know what would be awesome? If there was a copy of Stadium Events in there. And that saved the store. Hell, that's like a movie treatment right there.

    will they take IOU...

...oh and can they ship to Australia?

Owning a video game store is actually something I wouldnt mind doing.

the eBay title for this item is incorrect. it should not say "VIDEO GAME STORE", it should say "SHAKY INVESTMENT THAT IS BEING CRUSHED BY THE EB GAMES DOWN THE STREET".

it must be a nightmare being an independent games retailer these days

I reckon if you had the time and money you could make a decent profit selling all those games on ebay seperately. If only I had $30,000 and no life...

I love independent retailers, they often have so many odd or rare games. EB games is just so souless and overpriced. JB is slightly better.
My usual store for new releases though is a Lan cafe in melbourne- Adrenalan- great prices on new releases

Something tells me there aren't any hidden gems that people are optimistic about. If there was anything of value, I think the previous owners would have just ebayed them off individually before the entire place went under.

I see a lot of these things with toy collecting, where a magical ebay item will be listed as "Large 5kg lot of Lego minifigures!" or something and all the fans wonder what rare pieces might be found in this lucky dip. But 9 times out of 10 it's just worthless garbage and barely worth more than what was paid.

Yeah I think my Ebay expenditure is bad enough as it is...
I think they're a bit optimistic trying to sell that much in one go.
