Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath Is Back!

Developer Just Add Water is working on a HD remake of Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. That's the good news. The bad news, at least for Xbox owners, is that for now it's a PS3 exclusive.

It's a cruel irony that one of the few original Xbox games that was never made compatible with the Xbox 360 now returns, only... for a PlayStation machine instead. At least it does for now, the game's press release only mentioning the PS3.

Still, PS3 owners are in for a treat, as Stranger's Wrath was one of the most unique and memorable shooters to grace Microsoft's first console. Playing it in high definition should only make things better, especially since it'll also support the PlayStation Move.

Stranger's Wrath will be released as a PlayStation Network downloadable title and will be out Easter 2011. Xbox 360 owners, don't give up hope as the word "exclusive" was nowhere to be seen in the press release.

Hell yeah! I lost my old Stranger's Wrath disc. Great to get another chance to play one of the best games for the Xbox.
Now let's just hope for more word on the new Oddworld games.

I was under the impression that it was coming to PC as well... I hope it still is.

    Irony.
    I couldn't play it first time around cos I went PS2. Now I can't play cos I've gone 360.

Now THIS is something that I can get excited about.

This is made doubly strange by Stranger's Wrath's inclusion in the upcoming "Oddbox" - being the first time it and Munch will make it to the PC alongside the Abe games - yet the Oddbox has been slightly set back, and now this...

Yes, yes, yes! One of the best games for the Xbox! Please port to PC though - the PS3 controller is shit for FPS.

I still have the original game - not that I can play it...

Wow, the first game on the PS3 I would consider playing and its one of my favourite games.

    Damn you Sony.

Although I only have a 360, I have to say this is really cool news. It's one of the best first-person games I've ever played, up there with the likes of Bioshock and Half-Life. I actually dragged my dusty old Xbox 180 out a few months back and softmodded it to play Stranger's Wrath in 480p on my widescreen :D
