They Are "Definitely" Making A Fifth Resident Evil

Resident Evil: Afterlife has had the biggest opening of any of the RE films. Know what that means? They're going to do another one. Oh, yes. They are.

Milla Jovovich, star of Resident Evil: Afterlife, told New York Magazine, "This new Resident Evil is the first one to ever open at No. 1 worldwide. It's the biggest movie in the franchise. So we're definitely going to make another one."

According to the actress, her director and husband Paul W.S. Anderson is already working on ideas for the fifth Resident Evil film.

"We've been talking to a lot of fans on Twitter and stuff, so it's probably going to be one of the first movies where we really talk to fans to see what they want, and what characters they want to see. It's going to be a more interactive process."

So perhaps the fifth time's a charm? Maybe? No?

Will there be, like, Milla & all her clones making sexy yum-yum time in 3D?

Cos I could probably get behind that...

Dear god why couldn't they go with the idea to reboot the franchise. The alice character is horrible, and there is so little really connecting the movies to the game.

agreed. Whats with the Alice character?

Instead of a movie where kicking zombie ass comes second nature to nearly everyone...why not make a resident evil movie where terror and fear is the real deal?

Instead we get these shitty RE movies which is practically "Aliens" but with zombies instead.

So the movies get worse and worse yet make more money? Is this just fudged stats or are people really becoming dumber? Roger Ebert's review of Apocalypse says it far more succintly than I ever can.

"There was no reason to produce it, except to make money, and there is no reason to see it, except to spend money. It is a dead zone, a film without interest, wit, imagination or even entertaining violence and special effects. [...] Parents: If you encounter teenagers who say they liked this movie, do not let them date your children."

It's quite obvious that the RE film franchise is now just a retirement fund for Paul W S Anderson and Milla Jovovich. "What's that honey? You want a new Ferrari? We'll just make another Resident Evil movie"

      lol yeah.....
You scratched your ferrari hun? that's ok i'll get you another one, red again or will we try yellow?

WHY does anyone continue to watch the absolute shit this man produces?

This is good imo. You cant make a Resident evil movie based on a game good. Take them in their own direction. Sure they not the best but its better then a poorly done video game adaptation movie movie goers and gamers alike hate.

Plus Milla is pretty fine, ill watch her on screen :P

So glad my crush is on Leeloo alone and not Milla's other characters, because, well, that's pretty much her only GOOD contribution to geek/nerd cinema.

RE Movie fans: NOBODY to blame but YOURSELVES.

Everytime I saw the previews for this at the movies it always reminded me of a Matrix rip off. Especially the scene where she jumps out of the window and starts firng her guns. Seems like the only reason this opened at number one is because the better movies have alreay been out for 2 months or so and have died off a bit.

This movie rocked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There better be a sequel..That cliff hanger was effing mean as hell but good...dont care too much for the games so who cares if they're not following the "games" or wutever why would i want to play a game and watch a movie exactly like the game? Good job to those involved in making it and wish yall the best in the "better be released soon" sequel :)
