Blizzard Really Wants You To Start Playing World Of Warcraft Now

If World of Warcraft's Cataclysm expansion has finally piqued your interest in jumping into Blizzard's massive-multiplayer online role-playing game, right now may be most fiscally sound time to invest in WoW.

Blizzard is selling the first three releases in the six-year-old series for a pittance. Just five bucks for World of Warcraft, another five for The Burning Crusade expansion and a ten spot for the Wrath of the Lich King add-on. That offer runs until November 30, the week before Cataclysm hits storeshelves and Blizzard's online store.

World of Warcraft Cataclysm will set users of US dollars back another $US39.99 when it launches and subscription fees run $US12.99 to $US14.99 per month. Obviously, that adds up rather quickly, but if you're looking for a starter package, this is the way to go.

Prepare for the Cataclysm [Blizzard]

You do not have to buy Cataclysm initially.

1-80 with all the world changes are available free. The only thing you cannot do is create goblin or worgan characters.

it's not 'free', you still need to buy the original game and expansions and pay the subscription fee.

and I wanted to start playing, untill I decided to reactivate my account and found out I've been banned for manipulating the ecconomy back in may this year.

Considering my account has been deactivated for over a year I'm a little confused.

I'm not gunna be playing again if I lose my hunter.

I've already got WOW and TBC, but when I go to upgrade my account to WotLC, it says I'll be purchasing a "Region: North America" version whereas I'm currently "Region: Americas & Oceania (US)" - Does this mean it doesn't work for aussies or something?

For World of warcraft, since there are no exclusive oceanic realms, we are on the north american servers, though there are realms with the timezone set for us. That region would just effect starcraft 2 for example, where there are oceanic servers.

make it so that i can level to 65ish in less than a day and maybe we'll talk until then i see no reason to grind through a bunch of content that no ones playing and is boring since there's nothing tieing anything together till you get to WotLK

The last patch has just completely revamped the beginning content and overhauled the quests making an almost totally different experience in line with the cataclysm expansion all for free (no cataclysm required). Thus more players are creating new characters.

I like to do one good thing a year just before christmas. this year i will post this message:

    do drugs not warcraft.

    that is all

Gobbo wants Blizzard to release Diablo 3 now! :D

As someone who played wow for 3 and a half years and quit until very recently, I have to say the way they've restructured the new zones, without cataclysm is actually pretty amazing. It flows so much better that it doesn't feel like a grind at all.
