Sega's role-playing game series Sakura Wars is apparently getting a new game. Excited? Don't be.
According to online reports, the new Sakura Wars will be a browser game for domestic release in Japan. This is the second Sega franchise this fall to end up as a browser-type game.
Sakura Wars debuted in 1996 on the Saturn and went on to spawn anime and manga spin-offs, not to mention a cafe. The series has appeared on a variety of platforms, including the aforementioned Saturn, the PS2, the Nintendo DS and Japanese mobile phones.
Last month, Sakura Wars co-creator Hiroji Oji was embroiled in a scandal with a young Japanese idol.
