Catherine's Sexy Box Art Is Not For The Sheepish

Atlus is making its adult role-playing game Catherine as suggestive as possible. What does a tiny man with ram horns stuck in a woman's cleavage suggest to you?

Catherine is an adult Persona spin-off that deals with sex, dreams and murder, so I suppose this Japanese box art conveys those themes in some fashion. The sex part is obvious, and I suppose the dreams are represented by the fact that protagonist Vincent is climbing giant women, something that doesn't happen often in real life. Oh, and look! The logo has blood drops. Mission accomplished!

Will this cover art make it to North America? Hell, will the game make it to North America?

You don't think Atlus would ignore the overwhelming response North American gamers had to images like these, would you?

Thanks JayNTampa for passing these along from Catherine's Japanese website.

    Denied classification in Aus.

In Japan, the game got a CERO rating of C - one lower than Reach's rating of D and two lower than Black Ops' rating of Z.

By the time it comes out here we could have an R18+ rating on the board, too.

Either way, as if you'd want to buy it in a store.

Nah, you heard the latest? WA is gonna block the classification change.

        Sick of it tbh.

Re Catherine - I'm looking forward to ti, and if for some reaosn we don't get it here, well I probably would be importing it anyway ;)

          Hurray for WA!

Goddamn I hate living in Perth sometimes. In a backwards country we are by far the most backwards part.

I'm starting to wonder if those douchey nationalist bumper stickers you see on utes (ie. if you don't love it leave) might have the right idea.

Thats ok! PS3 is region free!

      Hello import! =D

Let's get an R18+ Rating as soon as possible eh?

      Is that confirmed already? :s

Your pessimism makes me sad.. I suppose without even a PAL release date, we can't guess when the Board will see it?

Well it's got a 15+ rating in Japan, so it'd have to have some chance over here. Especially if we get that R rating. Whether there'd be enough of a market to warrant a release is another matter.

I doubt this boxart will ever make it to Australia if the game ever does, but I'm kinda bummed.
If I need to import it I'll be getting the PS3 version, but I like the 360's cover better.
Of course the choice is pretty much a choice in the consumer's taste in women.

I just hope they release this game in ANY English speaking country, I can work with that.

ATLUS better pick this game up in the west or I will cry.
