2010 Game Of The Year Finalist: The Reader's Choice Award

You've read why Mass Effect 2 deserves to be game of the year. Also why Red Dead Redemption, Call of Duty: Black Ops and NBA 2K11 deserve the nod. Now it's your turn.

We spent the week publicly debating Kotaku's four finalists for game of the year. Before that we spent a month internally discussing our personal choices. Finally, it came down to each of us electing one game as our personal favourite.

Those four games were each given a champion on the staff who argued why they though the game was the best. They argued to convince you and to convince the rest of us.

Now you have a chance to make the argument for your choice among the finalists. We still haven't tallied our final vote, so now's your chance to change minds.

Drop into comments and make your argument. You don't have to, but it would make the most sense to limit your best argument for a single post. Feel free to debate among yourselves as well. We'll be reading.

Over the weekend we'll be voting. And Monday we'll announce the single winner. Have at it.

You also get one vote for your personal game of the year. The game with the most votes will be named Kotaku's Reader's Choice of 2010 on Monday.

Remember only one vote and if you do a write in, make sure to use the full proper name.

Thanks, play nice!

I voted for Mass Effect 2 but i am surprised that RDR is not in second and that BLOPS is second. I think most sites GOTY seemed to alternate between RDR and ME2.

I voted Red Dead but I think most sites swing between the two for good reason. They were just such stand out games.

I really had a hard time tossing up between the two.

I enjoyed ME2 a lot but I signed up for an RPG, not a 3rd person shooter. So RDR was my vote.

Black ops is second...What the hell? ME2 and RDR are easily better than that generic been-there-done-that shooter, why is it even in the GOTY list? If there needs to be an FPS on the list than Bad Company 2 would have sufficed I think.

Anyways, enough of my biased rant. I voted Red Dead, although Mass effect 2 comes close (few things in the game I dislike).

I'm surprised Black Ops is running second. It was a good game indeed but I thought RDR had more of an impact on people.

Oh God. People are actually voting for Black Ops. The patron saint of bad taste smiles upon us today.

Bad story, horrible voice acting, BC2-inferior multiplayer and XBL kids. Yeah, keep it classy guys.

That would be America for you... they would be driving the BLOPS percentage...

Voted for Red Dead without a seconds hesitation

It warms my heart that NBA2k11 is in the running in some way. When was the last time a basketball game was this acclaimed by critics and fans?

Black Ops continues as the most overrated, bug laden experience on consoles this gen. I don't see where all the praise comes from, particularly if your a PS3 owner- it just doesn't seem to work.

    Red Dead ftw!

props to 2K11 as well. Best ball game in a while.

Took 2 weeks to get the pc version to actually run without this ridiculous stuttering (never had problems running COD games before). By the time it was actually patched though, I had discovered Bad Company 2 - haven't looked back. I can't even imagine how the ps3 port turned out.

      Also Red Dead ftw indeed!

It's a tough call but I have to go with RDR over ME2 - both were very good but westerns done right are a lot harder to pull off.

Red Dead, who like unto an archer boldly strode
aforward amidst a desert path, to wander yonder road
alas the time appeareth now, a spectre of pasts wake
    elephantus hypomorph approaching riding snake
