Angry Birds Turns Its Fury On PS3, PSP

As promised, mobile sensation Angry Birds has landed on the PlayStation 3 (and PSP), due to be released as part of this week's PlayStation Store update.

The game, which has moved well over 20 million copies across various mobile phone platforms, will be released as a PlayStation mini title, meaning it can be played on either a PlayStation 3 console or a PlayStation Portable.

Why release a game that's sold so many copies on a hardcore gaming console, you may ask? Hasn't it sold all it can sell? Well, "hardcore gamers" may well be the last people on earth who haven't played the game, so it should do OK on Sony's consoles.

Part of what makes Angry Birds fun on iDevices, is the whole, use your finger to drag and then effect the birds mid-flight. I don't think I want to play this on PS3 or PSP. The game isn't even that good compared to other games. It's a fun diversion on your phone for 30 seconds at a time. I'd rather play real games on my real consoles.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Now we just have to keep waiting for the AU PSN to update!
Is it just me or has PSN been static in Australia for the last 2-3 weeks?
