He’s Exorcised Satan, And Now Narrating A Hit Franchise

Meet legendary actor Max von Sydow. He’s worked with directors like Ingmar Bergman, John Huston, Woody Allen and Steven Spielberg. He’s played Jesus and exorcised the devil. Next up, he’s narrating the forthcoming The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Von Sydow’s voice is clearly distinguishable on the game’s debut trailer. As website Rock, Paper, Shotgun points out, the Elder Scrolls series worked with previous big name talent in the past (Patrick Stewart and Liam Neeson), but the reason of the game’s voice acting was not up to snuff.

Maybe von Sydow’s cheaper than those two, and the game’s entire budge won’t be blown on his salary. He is a terrific actor, and he should hopefully bring a lot to the table in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Perhaps best known for his work with Bergman and his role in The Exorcist, here’s a look back at some of the films von Sydow appeared in.
