If You Act Now, Dragon Age II's Exiled Prince Is Free

Today BioWare dishes out details on The Exiled Prince, the first instalment of downloadable content for Dragon Age II that players get for free - as long as they preorder the game within the next four days.

The Exiled Prince, much like The Stone Prisoner downloadable content for the original Dragon Age, introduces players to a new character that will join the party for the remainder of the game, once his own personal issues are resolved. In this case the character is the noble archer Sebastian Vael, who joins the party in the midst of a quest to avenge his murdered family. Sebastian is the last surviving heir, and the player gets to choose whether to help him reclaim his title or direct his bow towards more pressing matters.

"Our goal for the Dragon Age II DLC is to extend Hawke's journey and the Dragon Age universe by introducing additional characters with meaningful storylines and intense, dynamic missions," said Mark Darrah, Executive Producer of Dragon Age II. "Not only will 'The Exiled Prince' allow players to experience Sebastian's powerful revenge story, but they will also be able to utilise him as a follower throughout Hawke's rise to power in Dragon Age II."

The Exiled Prince is part of the special Signature Edition of Dragon Age II BioWare announced last October. Players that preorder Dragon Age II before January 11 will secure the Signature Edition and The Exiled Prince in the process.

Those that miss the deadline can purchase the downloadable content on launch day for 560 Microsoft points. Think of it as a failure to preorder penalty; I know I am.

This 'deal' is funny. You can the upgrade for free it in Australia for only $80! OMG WHAT A BARGAIN! Or just go to 101cd.com and get the signature edition for 30 pounds inc shipping anyway...

Actually ur wrong. on 101cd its 49.99p for the signiture edition not including shipping which is bout $78. Ummmmm think i will just buy it here. i can get it on the release day! check the conversion rat first then comment

This is wrong. So f***ing sick and tired of DLC being ready before a game that should be IN the game... and then CHARGING for it.

I hear ya, but this is what they did with the first game. Funny thing is, with that one even the AU$20 more expensive special edition had content removed from the final product that was available for people to buy day on 1.

People still bought it by the truckload, so expect a lot more of this in the future as long as it remains profitable.

Any word on if Steam will serve up a similar edition? Nothing has showed up there yet and it's getting woefully close to the 11th.

I preordered the Sig Ed from www.ozgameshop.com

Cost me $46.99. Thats nearly half the price you pay here in Australia. I win.

Dunnowhathuh: Steam is getting the ordinary edition only.

Did the same a couple months ago :)
Couldn't pass up on that offer.

I ordered this months ago...Thanks CheapSkate Gamer!
