Cleaning Von Kaiser’s Clock – With Kinect

Wii Sports Boxing, everyone asked if that was like Punch-Out!! on Kinect. Fighters Uncaged, same thing. How about we just go ahead and play Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! with a Kinect? This guy does.

Here is RetroKinect by modder Dan Dockery. Simple controls, punch up, punch low, dodge left and right. The programmer disposes of Von Kaiser in the orthodox way and then blows through everyone up to King Hippo – timing that punch to his kisser must be a little tricky with the camera. Dockery says he’s still tweaking the configuration for responsiveness, but obviously he has the game in a very playable state.

Not that you will ever see Punch-Out!!, of any variety, on Kinect. But the march of mod progress adds another classic title to the wonder device’s repertoire.
