When news of The Darkness II first broke, I received a flurry of emails and comments – all with one question. Would Mike Patton be reprising his memorable performance in the game? Thankfully, we’ve just gotten word that the answer is yes. Mike Patton will once again be involved.
“The story behind The Darkness II wouldn’t be complete or authentic without the character of The Darkness,” claimed Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “Mike Patton brings a completely unique perspective to the role which is essential in creating the world of The Darkness.”
We fully agree. The Darkness featured some of the most memorable moments of any shooter released this generation, and we’re looking forward to the sequel. Mike Patton, it seems, is looking forward to doing his thing in the game.
“It feels really good to be the bad guy, and The Darkness is as bad as it gets,” said Mike Patton. “I’ve read through the script and Jackie is going to be a brutally tortured soul. I’m looking forward to making his life a living hell.”
