Rovio Will Fling Angry Birds Into 3DS ‘Later In The Year’

Rovio Mobile confirmed over its official Twitter account that all versions of Angry Birds will be brought to the Nintendo 3DS within the year.

Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and the forthcoming Angry Birds Rio, a tie-in with the movie of the same name, will be digital downloads over 3DSWare, Rovio told the blog 3DS Focus. “We prefer downloads and digital distribution on all platforms,” Rovio wrote. “It’s green like the pigs.”

Not a complete shocker – Totilo wrote about two weeks ago that “the smart money [is]on Angry Birds showing up on 3DS at some point.” Now it’s on the record.

I’m more than a little intrigued as to how the game will play with 3D presentation, given that the birds’ trajectories are so difficult to pinpoint in simple 2D. I’m sure it will look great, but in terms of playability, it may make you cuss even more which would be quite the feat.
