First Look At The New Silent Hill Movie’s Leading Lady

The second Silent Hill movie – based on the third video game – is now filming, with the newly revealed Adelaide Clemens taking on the role of Heather Mason, the playable teenage daughter of Harry Mason from Silent Hill 3.

Silent Hill: Revelation 3D – not to be confused with upcoming Nintendo 3DS game Resident Evil: Revelations – will be directed by Michael J. Bassett and produced by Samuel Hadida and Don Carmody, they of Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D and Resident Evil: Apocalypse renown. Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is a direct sequel to the original Silent Hill movie.

The set up for Revelation is that “Heather Mason and her father have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by terrifying nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.”

    • I would argue that Prince of Persia was probably the best adaptation to stand on its own as a decent film as well, but Silent Hill would definitely be close. See this for a thorough discussion of the topic:

I’m excited to see this finally happening, and I really hope Sean Bean will be back (though his name was Chris DaSilva in the original film, not Harry Mason).

    • ’tis true. That was a detail that wasn’t revealed until later in the game. Also, the first Silent Hill film was an absolute TERRIBLE adaptation – completely missed so much of the context and characters of the game. I mean… why were there nurses trying to kill the woman? Because they were in Silent Hill 2? Because, from my memory, there was an actual REASON why James had deadly/sexy nurses haunting him…

Gah, that’s just the tip of the iceberg of my ranting. And the fact that this is being helmed by the Res Evil film ppls is just sickening. Just rubbing the name of the game further into the mud. Will be missing this one for sure.

      • I just hated how cheesy that little girls acting was. Also near the end when she makes it through the hospital and it flashes white (seriously why do they do that! it strains your eyes, just fade from black!) and the little girl just tells her the whole story. LAME. The first half was pretty tense though, especially when the first air raid siren goes off. God I both love and hate those things. -shiver-

          • I wasn’t expecting much at all, so I actually enjoyed it.
Was shocked that people kept telling me they didn’t know what was going on!
There is 5 mins of dialogue WITH PICTURES explaining EVRYTHING!

  • As long as she does a good job in her acting, then Adelaide is cool. And regardless if this movie is horrible or not, i’m still going to go see it..only because i’m a faithful fan of the Silent Hill games. I dont want to sound too nerdy, but I also remember Heather having hazel eyes, not blue…although blue eyes are cute. lol

  • To me, it doesn’t seem like she /looks/ the part at all. I don’t know, but for some reason when I went to see how Heather would be portrayed, I was disappointed to see Adelaide.
