Hope You’re Ready For More Kinect Sports

Interested in the idea of Kinect Sports more than the rather basic game released last year? Maybe Kinect Sports 2 will do a better job.

Yes, we’ve heard that – and this should really surprise none of you – a sequel to the Kinect social/sports game is currently in development. There’s no word yet on an exact release date or the sports included, but the fact we now know the game is being worked on lends credence to a rumour from February which stated developer Rare’s future hinged upon the success of a Kinect Sports sequel.

Let’s hope that it’s only the “there’s a sequel to Kinect Sports” bit that’s correct. The other bit, well, Rare has been around since 1982, and has put out games like Donkey Kong Country, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and Banjo-Kazooie, not to mention being the designers of the Xbox 360’s avatars. To see them bite the bullet over a motion-controlled sports series would be more than a little tragic.

Contacted for comment, Microsoft replied with – wait for it – “Microsoft does not comment on rumour or speculation.”
