Is Disaster Report’s Developer OK?

After Irem outright cancelled Disaster Report 4, rumours swirled that the studio would no longer be releasing new copies of previous Disaster Report games. Disaster Report 4 was to be Irem’s first PS3 game. The fate of the studio’s second PS3 game seems equally grim.

Steambot Chronicles 2 (aka Poncotsu Roman Daikatsugeki Bumpy Trot 2), the sequel to 2005’s adventure game, was supposed to be out this year. The PS3 exclusive was first shown at the 2006 Tokyo Game Show and slated for the PS2, but later moved to the PS3.

According to early, rumoured Japanese magazine leaks, the game is now cancelled. The game’s official site makes no mention of a cancellation. However, it might be updated once the Famitsu magazine goes on sale.
