Zelda Maps Make The Best City Maps

This is the city of Lethbridge, one of the largest in Alberta, Canada, circa 1987. It is amazing.

Made by Lawrence Krysak and Jarrett Duncan for a mapping project, the original is 24 inches wide and features details that don’t transfer over at lower resolutions.

“The idea for this map was to represent The City of Lethbridge as it existed in 1987 in an 8-bit, NES style,” writes Lawrence Krysak. “To that end, we utilized elements drawn from both The Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.”
