Deus Ex's Future Will Give You Creepy Robot Hands And Eyes

Sarif Industries, a key player in the upcoming Deus Ex: Human Revolution, manufactures robotic human body parts. This "commercial" for the company makes that look even creepier than it sounds.

Robot piano hands? Fine for piano, maybe, but what about holding kittens? And robot football arms? That was a perfect, if girly, pass for the cameras, but couldn't he just as easily taken the kid's head off with his super-human strength?

So many questions. Questions that won't have answers until we arrive in the distant future. Or, at least, until Deus Ex is out in August on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

I'm sure they're designed with ease of use and dexterity rather than brute strength. It's also up to the consumer whether he uses his/her new found limb(s) to beat on a random pedestrian/irate neighbor. You can most likely obtain your own set of bionic super nuclear duper arms on the black market, but I'd like bring home something that won't put holes through the floor/roof/kitty.

Closest thing to a Live-Action Ghost in the Shell movie.

I guess the thing to remember here is that somewhere all of that metal joins normal flesh and bone (as any good Shadowrun player would know).

If the guy's arm shot forward at supersonic speeds, his whole arm might rip from its moorings and project itself through the ball park.

Or if he had super strength, and tried to pick up a car, his arm might just rip off. Or the pressure would break every bone from his shoulder down through to his feet, if the arm was attached 'securely' enough.
