It Looks Like Pokémon XD: Gale Of Darkness Is Coming To 3DS

The magazine scans reader David points us towards are ridiculously blurry and the images vague, but three things are certain: That spiky-haired character is holding a Pokéball, the game is on the 3DS, and that's Agate Village from Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness.

For more than a decade now, Pokémon fans have been clamoring for a console version of the role-playing games that set Nintendo's handhelds on fire, and for years they've been getting watered down crap. Console titles like Pokémon Colosseum, Pokémon Battle Revolution, and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness gave players a small taste of what they really wanted, but kept the full Game Boy and DS experience just out of reach.

So now, instead of giving players what they want, it looks like Nintendo is porting one of the games they didn't want to the 3DS. This makes perfect sense.

The redhead in the scan is definitely the main character from Gale of Darkness, and Agate Village is a location visited in both Gale and Colosseum's adventure mode. Since both games feature similar locations, perhaps they're combining both.

If the scans prove true, it looks like Nintendo is ready to bring the experience of being disappointed by a Pokémon game to the 3DS. Seems like a smart move to me.

Pokemon Colosseum heading to the 3DS? [Nintendo3DS Blog - Thanks David!]

And here is the 4th anti-Nintendo article to be published today. I'm wondering, what are you referring to by "disappointed by a Pokemon game"?

As far as I recall, all the DS Pokemon games were massive successes, both fianically, and critically.

The ones on consoles however, were FAR from as popular. I got Pokemon XD not too long ago from Gametraders as it was fairly cheap and regretted it.

Other than they're still using models from the N64 stadium games (a trend continued in the Wiis Pokemon Battle Revolution) and incredibly bad 'cries' of pokemon (which were changed from almost 'real' sounding cries in N64 to sounds ripped from the handheld games and somehow made to sound worse), I actually gave up probably an hour in to it due to the characters sister who followed along constantly talking in the third person.

Pokemon Colosseum was passable, but was a far cry from any of the DS games.

Hello, i'm from the future (05/09/2015).
No sign of pokemon xd for 3ds though, but let's not lose hope.

I personally really enjoyed Colosseum and XD. I felt they were an interesting deviation, while staying true to the basic game mechanics.

I hope this would disappoint you.

Fake magazine pics are always disappointing.

Furigana. Circle pad. Stock images. Skewing.

That's the main character from Colosseum not XD

Here it comes. The attacking anti-Nintendo sentiment.
Correction# That is the main character from Colosseum, the better of the two Gamecube games. Also, it wouldn't be a remake would it? Given that they have just released a new Generation, it makes sense that itt would be a direct sequel.

The same way they're making a direct Zelda sequel and a direct Starfox sequel instead of remaking old games, yeah?

"Console titles like Pokémon Colosseum, Pokémon Battle Revolution, and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness gave players a small taste of what they really wanted, but kept the full Game Boy and DS experience just out of reach"

I've never understood why alleged images of something before its been announced are always so fuzzy and terrible. Surely if they were real the person capturing the image would have SOME time to align the camera or use a scanner or something, rather then get dodgy images.
Case in point, the Project Cafe images that were seen earlier this week.

I dont care what people say I love this game

Guys, that character is from "Pokemon XD" not from "Pokemon Colloseum". I think his name is Michael and starts off with an eevee.

I would at least hope for a sequel for both DS and Wii. I loved Colloseum, so it would only bring in more sales.

well hey now, colosseum was epic but XD not so much, i hope they combine the two.
