   I have deathsmiles,(another of Cave’s horizontal shooters) and I played it on easy. It was fine till I got to the extra stage, and it looked something like that.

   Remember that it’s probably not hard mode they’re showing, that’s most likely normal mode ^^;;

   I love watching these videos but can’t understand the appeal of these bullet hell shooters. Is it about memorising the patterns?

      It’s more about bettering your own high-scores to me. Minimal gains feel like climbing mountains in these games sometimes. Also, they are infinitely more challenging than most of the curent crop of games, so long as play how they are meant to be played (ie for high scores/one-credit-completions)
