   Mike I agree with you. IX is always going to be my personal favorite because it nailed what I felt FF should be. Fantasy, with a bit of steam punk, great characters and development across the board and a brilliant story that kept you wanting to play to see how it all ended.

   The biggest thing that disappointed me with FFVIII was the draw magic system, especially after the materia system of VII, which IMO was far superior.

   IX was nice, but I just could never get into it, perhaps I will give it another go. Honestly, I never finished VIII, IX or XII, and have had no inclination to revist any but IX.

   Am looking forward to seeing what all the fuss over VI is though.

   As long as it doesn’t have the horrid load times that version came with. A serious 7-8 second wait just from map screen to battle was awful, not to mentioned a similar wait time just to get into your menu screen.

   VI is one of those games packed with awesome moments. The opera scene, Ultros the awesome octopus, Kefka doing stuff, the change that leads to the second half of the game, not to mention all the fantastic characters that grow on you. VI never lets it’s player characters get lost in the mix or let one of them ascend high above the others ala Cloud. It also has one of my favorite endings to a game, ever.
