The PSP Is Still Tops In Japan, Thanks To EDF

Giant insect slaying on the go is Japan’s favourite flavor of the week, with PSP game Earth defence Force 2 Portable managing to outsell everything else this (slow) week. PSP hardware also managed to stay on top, again outselling the Nintendo 3DS.

There was little excitement on this week’s software chart, with the previous week’s bestseller Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 Professional slipping to second in the wake of EDF2 Portable sales. One 3DS title manages to stay in the top ten, with nintendogs + cats seeing some evergreen sales.

On the console front, the PS3 continues to outsell the Wii, this week at a rate of almost three to one. Maybe Nintendo should issue a price drop there as well.
