The Wii’s Xenoblade Finally Being Exported From Japan

Wii role-playing game Xenoblade (aka Monado: Beginning of the World) will no longer be a Japan-exclusive, thanks to Nintendo of Europe. The company is bringing the game to the Wii in Europe as Xenoblade Chronicles.

Developed by Monolith Soft, better known for the Xenosaga and Baten Kaitos series, Xenoblade is an action-based RPG that tells the story of a war between two worlds, Bionis and Mechonis. “Join the battle for Bionis to repel the invasion of a terrifying mechanical army and uncover the secrets of a mystical sword called the Monado,” reads Nintendo of Europe’s official announcement.

Xenoblade Chronicles will come to Europe with English and Japanese voice-over tracks, subtitled in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.

Nintendo of America showcased the title at E3 2009 as Monado: Beginning of the World, but has recently been quiet on the game’s North American release. Nintendo of Japan still lists the title as “TBA” for North America.

Nintendo of America has not yet responded to requests for an update on the status of Xenoblade.
