There Are Now 4 Million Levels On LittleBigPlanet

This is a pretty incredible statistic. At time of writing there is now 4,141,742 levels on LittleBigPlanet. According to Alex Pavey at Sony, if you were to play for 12 hours a day, and play each level for five minutes, it would take you over 78 years to play them all.

A message from the team at Media Molecule stated the following:

For us the most exciting thing has always been seeing what the community does with a LittleBigPlanet game when they get their hands on the new features and tools. We’re constantly delighted – and amazed – by their ingenuity and creativity, and it’s so inspiring to see the level of affection that exists for LittleBigPlanet amongst fans around the world.

It's a crazy number, a number that shows just how incredible the LBP community is. I can't help but wonder what percentage of these levels are actually playable on a functional level, but that's just the haggard old cynic in me.

Congratulations to Media Molecule, and congrats to the huge, dedicated community that has made this landmark possible.

Do any of you guys still play LittleBigPlanet regularly? Any creators amongs you? I'd love to check out some levels made by Kotaku readers, so if you have created something, or still play regularly, let us know in the comments below.

I play LBP2 at least once a week, mostly play the community levels since there are some incredible levels out there. Its perfect when you want to take a break from shooting things in the face (to slap sack-people around).

Would love to create something, just don't have the time or energy to put into it.

I've made a couple. PSN - cronotriggr. They're mostly standard platform fare (Except Krazy Kebabs which is utter nonsense and chaos)

I don't play consistently these days but it's a great fall back game and is a nice outlet for the crazyness in my head.

I haven't had a chance to play with the sequel that much.

I LOVED LBP2 when it was released - i even bought a PS3 to play it. But the one thing that got me was the inability to download or store the community levels. I've been meaning to get back into it after the relatively short story mode. Is there a way to have the UGC on hand even when you're not connected to the net?

I haven't played the game that much, but in the first one you could download levels to your moon, but only levels the creators have said that it's okay for you to download.
