All Witcher 2 DLC Will Be Free, Developer Assures

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings arrives for PC on Tuesday, and while there is some retailer-specific preorder DLC out there, developer CD Projekt RED assures everyone the game's DLC will be free.

"All of [it] ," wrote a CD Projekt rep in a Q&A on GameStop's Facebook page. "If anything will be for purchase, those will be expansion packs. First DLC (side-quest called "Troll Trouble") [will launch]together with the game release."

The rep estimated Witcher 2 clocks in with 40 hours of gameplay in the main quest, and double or triple that if you take your time with its non-linear components.

Love this company, I was worried I would need to re-buy the Witcher when the Enhanced Edition was released but they sure surprised me.

Props to these guys... Not letting a dollar get in the way of good gaming!

These guys are making it hard to find fault with. If they were a D&D character they would.be lawful good paladins

With their eccentric marketing and openness, coupled with their subtle ways of circumventing anti-consumer policies, I'd have them pegged more as a chaotic good wizard/bard/monk multiclass.

You've really put a lot of thought into this.

Theres been like 5 videos released by CDPR over the last 24 hours, you editors should be covering them!

/agree the combat one is especially cool.

Oh god I think I'm gonna cry... I LOVE you guys at CD Projekt!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    AAA developers have indie spirit.
When a company like this thinks outside the box and focuses on the fans ahead of the bottom line, there is hope for the rest.

I'm really glad that I pre-ordered this game now. I can't wait to play. Pre-installed via GOG as well.
