New ‘Shining’ Game In The Works

And no, we’re not talking about the movie starring Jack Nicholson, based on the book of the same name (although that would be awesome), we’re talking, of course, about SEGA’s premier RPG series. As reported by Japanese rag Famitsu, Tsuyoshi Sawada has confirmed that a new entry into the series will be announced soon.

“It’s been 10 years since the Shining series was re-invented,” said Sawada. “Currently, we’re preparing a title that sums up the whole series and should provide an answer to users’ curiosity. I can’t give details yet, but I’d like to reveal it before we go too far into the future.”

The Shining series was give ye olde reboot with Shining Soul in 2002, but it’s been relatively quiet on that front since then. We’re looking forward to seeing what direction the franchise heads in.
