Each week throws off several new video game lists ranging from the humorous to the trivial. What’s better? A list of those. Here’s a roundup of the rundowns out there.
•The Top 10 Sexiest Video Game Commercials [Joystick Division]Some of these are reasonably tame. Many aren’t even actual ads. All-Stars that are include the Heidi Klum Guitar Hero: World Tour ad that got Bill O’Reilly pissed off, Tera Patrick’s partnership with Saint’s Row 2 and the oopsie Serena Williams Top Spin 4 spot that never should have gotten out. No 1 is Jo Garcia on the Wii Fit.
•The Top 10 Counter Terrorists in Video Games [Ranker]Had to figure something like this was coming, with the killing of Osama bin Laden last Sunday. Splinter Cell‘s Sam Fisher is the obvious No. 1 choice; Solid Snake gets No. 3. The Bad Dudes are just No. 9.
•10 Video Game Console Prototypes [The Kartel]Nintendo’s “Project Café (the Wii 2) and rumours (strenuously denied) that EA has an Xbox 360 successor make this retrospective another topical list, with looks at the original PlayStation, the Wii when it was known as the “Revolution,” and the PS3’s Boomerang controller.
•The 10 Worst Video Game Magazine Covers [1Up]GamePro shows up here twice, the only multiple dishonoree. Gotta admit, even considering the primitive capabilities at the time some of these were published, these are some extremely bad video game magazine covers. There’s a top 10 best covers, but it’s more fun to criticize.
•The 12 Worst Cutscenes in Gaming History [UGO]Hey, look at this, it’s unbearable to watch. No 1 is Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon from the CD-I.
