The Single Edit That Removed Tokyo From Motorstorm: Apocalypse

Despite being set in a fictional town along the US west coast, Motorstorm: Apocalypse has been inexorably tied to Japan and the earthquakes there.

That’s perhaps because of the delays triggered by the quakes in Japan and the game’s seismic-themed racing. But there aren’t any Japan references in the entire game… at least not anymore.

Prior to the game’s official release, there was one very specific Tokyo reference. The reference was seemingly muted from a bit of cut-scene chatter with a patch.

Check out the video above to see the muted bit and then how the cut-scene played out before a single sentence was cut from the scene.

One bit of coincidental dialog aside, Motorstorm: Apocalypse is a spectacularly fun game to play. It’s shaping up to be my favourite racer in the series. Check back next week for our full review and stay tuned for further coverage on the PS3 exclusive.
