Two Ninjas Converge In A Snowy Wood In Mortal Kombat: Legacy

Episode seven of director Kevin Tancharoen’s live-action Mortal Kombat: Legacy web series touches on the origin of two of the video game franchise’s most iconic characters, Scorpion and Sub-Zero. Why did they use two actors instead of just palette swapping?

It’s easy to forget the tragic tale of Scorpion while you’re busy harpooning your enemies in the Mortal Kombat video game. Actor Ian Anthony Dale shows us Hanzo Hasashi’s more human side, the respected leader and loving father and husband that would one day become one of the tournament’s fiercest fighters.

Oh, and if Ian Anthony Dale looks familiar, you may have seen him as another live-action fighting game competitor in 2009’s Tekken movie, in which he took on the role of Kazuya Mishima. Small world, isn’t it?
