Activision Makes Transformers Video Games, So Does Its Biggest Rival

Our intern Joshua Rivera was as disappointed with Activision’s Xbox 360 Transformers: Dark of the Moon video game as I was with the original mould for Galvatron. The Activision game made him feel like a clumsy Autobot. Activision also published PS3, Wii, DS and 3DS games based on this weekend’s Transformers movie. We didn’t test those on him.

Oddly, Activision’s big rival, EA, is also making games for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. That would be like DC and Marvel both making World of Warcraft comics. Madness.

EA’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon games are for iOS. Our intern Josh isn’t here, so we can’t assess them. Enjoy the trailer and decide for yourselves. (This much I know: It looks like a top-down action game… you control Optimus Prime or Bumblebee.)

Next thing you know, Activision will be making its own Harry Potter and Need for Speed games and EA will be making clones of Modern Warfare 3 or knock-offs of Diablo… or something.
