Assassin's Creed: Revelations Is On Fire...

E3 has seen a massive flurry of trailers, demos and game footage - but it seems as though, in the hustle and bustle of it all, we've forgotten about one of my most anticipated games of 2011, Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Chances are you've seen the CGI trailer, but this game demo will most likely lay to rest any concerns you may have concerning the final chapter of Ezio's trilogy.

Revelations appears to play similarly to Brotherhood, but adds a handful of new mechanics, as shown in the demo. What impresses me most, however, is the seamless way in which the team has adapted the game's style to a bombastic, driven style of play. Obviously Assassin's Creed is known for it's wealth of detail in an open world, but it's good to know that the game will step up the pace with spectacular set-pieces.

We can't wait.

'You will always remember this as the day that you almost caught Captain! Jack! Sparrow!'

I've never really understood why they show an inset of the guy playing. I mean seriously who came up with the idea to half the size of the actual game play video so that all the lucky people at home can see some guy standing holding a controller.

I think it's to reinforce the notion that the footage is actually someone playing the game, rather than prerecorded footage (people tend to be suspicious of prerecorded stuff as it may not be indicative of the actual gameplay).

It always reminds of a Miyamoto quote where he said he watches game testers expressions rather than them playing the game... I don't think I could have finished world 1-1 with that kind of pressure

Very impressed with how this is shaping up. The detail for Constantinople seems great, and it'll be awesome to explore a new setting with a new plot.

Incidentally, I love the way they've sutbly tweaked the chanting religious theme to give it a Turkish or Islamic element - really shows a lot of care for the setting.

I'd love to watch this, but the absurd number of Flash based ads on this page mean my CPU pegs at 100% when I load the page.

It only seems to happen to me when Telstra are advertising on here - whatever they're using on their ads in pwnerating my CPU. :(

Ubisoft has some amazing CG trailers, when I first saw it a few days ago I thought it was Live Action.

Looks like a carbon copy of the 2nd. I think I'll give it a miss

The chance to play 2 again with a new story? Sure, I'm in. That said, it doesn't look like 2 to me, but even so, I couldn't pass up playing 2 again.

Playing Ezio again does not a clone make.

Did anyone else see the cartoon at the start and think of Mirror's Edge?

Ezio just keeps getting cooler the older he gets. By the end of Brotherhood I wasn't annoyed by him at all... Looks like in Revelations I'm gonna think he rocks.

Aggressive combat seems to be taken out... I liked that in Brotherhood. I get that he's old, but so what, dude's 50 and he runs like he's 18.

Im sorry, a flamethrower? really? how far are they gonna push the Da Vinci technology angle? I've been a bigger follower of AC from the beginning but these expansion packs seem to getting more "razzle! dazzle!" than stealth based assassinations. He blows two guards up in plain view of everyone, thats not an old man using tactics, thats just lazy! lol

You do know that the flame-thrower was a real thing during that time period, invented by the Byzantium's, well before Da Vinci was even born (around 600AD). Search Greek Fire and you'll see it was utilized a lot during war but was lost when Constantinople fell to Persian rule. Not far fetched me thinks.
