  • Nice work on calling it FEAR 3 like a normal person.

Also, for the love of god nobody make the same mistake I did and buy Shift 2. It’s a terrible game. If you want to waste money, put it in an envelope and send it to me.

    • I enjoyed Shift 2, but if you’re more of a sim racer I can see why it would piss you off. I still stand by that when you’re in the cockpit or using helmet cam, it’s one of those things where once you’ve drived with it, you don’t want to use any other view.

      • My problem was the unplayable controls.

Tweak the analog stick to the right a tiny bit? Full lock right.

Try and compensate the full lock by tweaking the analog stick to the left? Full lock left.

Now you’ve spun out and you’re facing the wrong way.

Do this 10 times, say a word that rhymes with ‘bucket’, press alt-f4 and you have the time I spent with that game in a nutshell.

And yes, I kept going back and kept repeating the above until I felt like throwing my controller.

        NICE WORK EA.

  • Maybe clock this one up as a “reverse deal”, but for anyone holding out for Deus Ex 2 on steam, that one just jumped up by $20 for the usual reasons.

      • Also, it’s a shame really.
Squenix were one of the few publishers who didn’t jack up prices. Not anymore, I guess.

    • Given how many games haven’t lived up to the hype recently, I’m going to wait for the reviews on this one then get it from ozgameshop.

I don’t really see the point in pre-ordering games at the moment.

    • Glad I pre-ordered it months ago.

Bulletstorm on PC for $20 is tempting. Anyone know if I can use the code on Steam? ie. is it Steamworks?

  • Assassins Creed Brotherhood is $26.99 delivered from OzGameShop at the moment – just make sure you order the Xbox Classics edition…

  • I’ve never used Zavvi.com before. Does anyone want to comment on them? Reliability, customer service. etc.?

Some of those prices are pretty good. Thanks.

    • Bought MMA and Deadly Premonition from there recently, for something like $12 each. Cheap shipping (if not free? can’t remember) and pretty damn quick. Perfect condition too. I’ll be buying from them again definitely.

    • I like them. Some people have issues, including being told that they cannot ship to Australia… but I’ve never had that problem, nor any other.

They’re my go-to place for cheap DVDs and games.

    • I’ve only had good experiences with Zavvi. Postage does take a while, but you get that, it wasn’t too bad with the things I’ve ordered, two to three weeks or so. Also, this may be just me, if you wait long enough between orders they send you a 10% off ‘we miss you’ voucher.

    • Ordered a few things about a month ago, and it arrived about 2 weeks later. Shipping may take a while, but with the money you save, its certainly worth the wait.

    • Well I’ve be pronouncing the series ‘eff dot ee dot a dot arr’ from the first game. So now ‘eff dot three dot a dot arr’ doesn’t really change a lot.

But then again I also call Modern Warfare 2, ‘Moderner Warfare’ and have started calling MW3, ‘Modernest Warfare’.

But yeah, thanks for the list Lamboman.

Talking about other cheap games, Myer in Perth CBD had 40% off a few games last week, one of which was the Sly Cooper Trilogy on PS3. Got it to $36, which I think was the cheapest brick and mortar I’ve seen here. Other Myer may be similar.

  • Has anybody tested whether the “Unfortunately this product cannot be shipped outside of the UK” disclaimer on Enslaved from Zavvi is accurate?

      • Hehe… I’m actually curious though. It seems like such a random exemption on a single game! Maybe I’ll have to try it and report back.

        • Enslaved is not a game, it’s a movie with quicktime events. I thought the faces and dialogue was fine, story even, but worst gameplay I’ve experienced in a while – you cannot even jump down unless your in the right spot.

  • You guys should have an OSX section…they have specials..even most games being released now are from 2004.

  • If you’re looking for it, my gf picked up Lego Pirates for PC for $35 at EB. It’s normally $50 but has 30% off in the sale they’ve got on currently. I haven’t seen the PC version for sale anywhere else, so this seems like an awesome deal, considering how new it is.

  • Also, Don’t forget that the big Department store Toy Sales are coming up soon (Big W, Kmart, Target). Can probably get some older games on the cheap.

I think Big W are going to be selling a handful of games $48 for two. I was thinking of getting Assassins Creed 2 and Just Cause 2. 🙂

      • Oh god yeah we’ve sunk over 100 hours over the last six months into JC2. Funny thing is we’re only half way through the bloody game!!!!!!! Seriously it’s SO easy to get sidetracked in that game hey!

Should finish it one day. Infamous 1 and 2 have me switching back and forth between them regularly for the same reason heh.

  • EU III Chronicles for $7.50 is simply a phenomenal price.

Pick it up if you’re at all interested in Civ or Age of Empires type games. It’s amazing.

  • Does our version of Mercanaries have the obnoxious can’t delete save games ‘feature’ too?
